While grinding the coffee beans, I was delighted by the sight of some obviously recently hatched Great Crested Flycatchers out the window in our cherry tree. Alas, they went elsewhere before I could grab my camera. It has been nice to hear the calls of the summer birds - the flycatchers, as well as the Summer Tanagers, Wood Thrush and Red Eyed Vireo.
Thanks to one of our tomato seedling friends, Cheryl, we are embarking on vermicomposting. We should be able to keep those worms happy with plenty of good kitchen compost and coffee grounds!
Here is a sampling of morning pics - a few things blooming, and a view of our garden from the deck.
