Last evening we harvested the first of the bush beans, and were really surprised at how many we collected! (Picking bush beans in the heat and humidity is not the most fun thing to do....but the rewards make it worth it!). And, yesterday I said "goodbye" to the row of Asian greens - all that remains is half a dozen Swiss Chard plants - and the backing row of beets, which are also now in peak harvest condition. Next to go will be most of the lettuce.
I am trying to decide if I want to use that rear garden space for even more small pot, extreme prune indeterminate tomatoes. I've got many rare varieties I started for Carolyn Male - the extra plants - and it would be good to get seeds from them. I've got plenty of pots - it will just mean another trip to Home Depot for the big green bags of stuff to put in the pots!
