I've settled on just two types of cucumbers - Diva (is there a better tasting cuke???), and Poona Kheera, an odd looking little thing that produces like a machine and tastes great. For squash, we are going with Raven and Plato Zucchini, Slick Pik yellow squash, and Zephyr - a really beautiful and unique summer squash whose fruits are mostly yellow, but with a medium green blossom end. You pick your battles with varieties - I am of course picky (and prolific) with tomatoes, peppers and eggplant, but much less so with other crops. You can't get obsessed with everything (or can you???)....
It was another productive day - got to see several of our "annual" friends, who stopped by to get plants...really enjoyed meeting a local legend for growing tomatoes in straw bales, Kent Rogers...I've added ways to get to his information from my Links page. I can't wait to see how my babies do using his method!
