What else? More veggie preserving. Right now, in the dehydrator, are slices of eggplant and zucchini. I waded into the big garden this morning and found that just because I ignore it, it isn't ignoring us - plenty of squash and cukes to pick (alas, the green beans are at their last gasp...very sad). Then I did a first picking of sweet peppers - so there is now a bag chopped peppers in the freezer. And eggplant....and tomatoes...hence two pans of sauce roasting in the oven. The house smells rather amazing at the moment!
Fortunately, seed saving on tomatoes is winding down. I made good progress on saving seed from the experimental ornamental hot peppers, and soon I will be completing the rest of the hot pepper, all of the sweet pepper and eggplant seed saving. My seed stock will be in great shape after such a bountiful season. The big challenge - deciding what to grow next year!
