Next - reiterating my schedule this week, for pickups at our home: Tuesday between 9 and 10:30 AM and after 3 PM, Wednesday after 1 PM, and Thursday likely to be between 9-10 AM, then after 3 PM. Depending upon space availability at the Farmers Market, we will likely be there Friday and Saturday between 8 AM and 3-4 PM. Of course, we won't have any idea of exactly where we will be until Thursday afternoon at the earliest. Just watch the blog! (You can always come by our house to get seedlings Friday and Saturday after 5 PM.)
Some of you are emailing me with an interest to try some dwarf seedlings - great! It will probably be another week or so until they are ready. My main garden tasks this week are continuing to transplant seedlings for the sales.....finish preparing the back two garden rows and getting the lettuce, greens and beets planted...and starting to bleach pots in preparation for getting my own tomatoes, peppers and eggplant going. No shortage of stuff to do! Oh yes - I am going to do another replanting of Diva cucumbers, which should be available in a few weeks. I've also noted that we are getting very low on some eggplant and peppers, so I may be suggesting substitutions for some of your requests. Good news - plenty of Sungold, Cherokee Purple and Chocolate, and the new Dwarf varieties!
Finally, do watch the weather forecasts for Tues, Wed and Thurs nights - it looks as if most of us will escape a frost, but do watch carefully just in case things change! It is clear that my basil hasn't appreciated the near misses of last week - the cold really makes the leaves look ugly, though the plants are fine.
