Aside from a rather odd visit to the dentist (when asked why they were open today, the response was that it was helpful to people who had the day off....I suppose - but...still!), today was a pretty nice day. The only gardening I did was to water the driveway pots this morning, and plant some Cilantro seeds (at the request of Sue...she is developing a taste for it. Me?....not so much!).
But it was a perfect day for some paddling, so our friend Margie came over (she of the really nice Sunset Beach beach house) and Sue and I took her kayaking on Falls Lake. You know, they are right when they say it isn't the heat, but the humidity! Today we certainly had the heat - but with relatively dry air, it was a very pleasant paddle.
After that we had a nice dinner on the deck - chips and salsa, a pasta salad, washed down with a few good wines - then Sue's Blueberry Betty topped with some home made vanilla ice cream. Just a perfect end to a perfect day!
