I know, I know...two weeks since my last blog entry.  Well, busy is good - and somehow, time just flies by.

But - fresh back from walking our dogs, alongside Sue, Sara and Caitlin, I just wanted to pass along good wishes to everyone who happens upon this blog.  It was a challenge, and great fun, to take you all along on my 2011 garden experiences and more.  And I will attempt to do it again next year - perhaps with a bit more care and discipline (yeah, right.....well, maybe!  I can  certainly make the attempt!)

It is remarkable how each Christmas has a different feel, as our families grow and change.  Though Sue and I miss our dads, and our moms are each enduring their own challenges...and we are distant from sister, brothers, nieces and nephews and cousins - it was a wonderful day spent with our two dear girls.  We had some good food, good chats, good music - a bit of relaxation.  It is a Christmas we will always fondly remember.

With the calender getting ready to flip to 2012, I am keenly aware of the proximity of seed planting time.  Watch this space for details of my garden planning.

Peace and happiness to all!

But before it's time to report on that, just a few pics of what's going on around here.  so far, the cats haven't decided to remove tree ornaments and distribute them around the house!  Sunday was a productive day - got the tree (from the Raleigh Farmers Market), got the lights on and the ornaments too....

Second row of pics was taken last weekend when the neighborhood did the annual votive candle lighting (first pic)...others are of our expert outside decoration of our shrubbery (and a crape myrtle....same lights we've left on for 3 years running!  Amazed they still work...)

Great to read through the arriving seed catalogs!  Johnny's is particularly impressive to me (as always!)...

Cats will be cats!
